effective
A very effective mask for oily skin that is prone to breakouts (like mine). My impression is that it is better with dealing with breakouts rather than preventing them, but you can use it on target areas where you normally get spots and this works on a 50:50 basis for me. I would personally use it for target areas rather than all over the face and would not do it up to three times a day (as the instruction suggests) as that would be too drying for me, but this may well work for someone with more problematic spots. This was the first time I tried a mask with sulphur and am quite happy with the result, so it is definitely worth trying if you have oily/acne prone skin and are looking for a remedy

Great for blemish prone skin
I really love the results of this product, it's helped clear up around 90% of my acne (previously on prescription creams and antibiotics which both never helped). I use it along with other Dr Dennis Gross products (daily peels, cleanser and moisturiser) and helps nip any spots that do come up overnight. My skin hasn't been clearer in years. The smell isn't the most pleasant but for me it's worth it.

Just ok
I’m not crazy about this mask, you really get a tiny amount, so I think that this would be best used as just a spot treatment. I was hoping to use it all over my face, but you would have to use most of the container to do that. I love this peels from this brand but I wouldn’t repurchase this product.

One of a few sulphur products available in the UK
I bought this mask as I was looking for a sulphur-based product to treat my mild/moderate acne. Sulfur as a skincare ingredient is recommended by dermatologists. It's a keratolytic, which means it works by gently softening and exfoliating the skin cells, while also having antibacterial properties. So it offers a kind of two-in-one protection against spots. As a bonus, sulphur is anti-inflammatory and unlikely to cause any irritation. Despite this, it's hard to come by sulphur-based products here in the UK. After using this mask, it quickly became apparent why this is. It STINKS. Of bonfires, eggs, and all the other sulphur-y smells you can imagine. This isn't something I'm automatically concerned about; I'd rather use smelly ingredients that are likely to work than settle for ineffective, but cosmetically elegant, products. Also, some formulations attempt to cover up the natural odour with various strong perfumes and sensitizing essential oils -- a previous sulphur product I'd tried, the Saturn treatment by Sunday Riley, was so full of these additives that I had a bad reaction, and my face was red after using. No such problem with this one. The smell is definitely something to bare in mind when using this product, however. It tends to linger for a while, and I was catching whiffs of it every couple of hours for about a day after. Again, this didn't bother me TOO much -- in fact, it was good to feel that the key ingredient was lingering for a while in my pores, doing its stuff. That said, I'd avoid using this mask before a hot date, or on a day when I'll likely be sweating a lot. Otherwise, I really like this product. It's a small bottle, but you only need to apply as a thin layer, and it goes on smoothly, similar to other high-quality kaolin clay-based face masks. Most importantly, I feel it's effective. After using it twice weekly for the past fortnight, it's kept my congestion at bay, and reduced the huge hormonal blemishes that tend to appear around my period. Next month, I'm going to try using it alongside my Paula's Choice salicylic acid -- a combo that will hopefully truly obliterate the monsters. Pleased with my purchase!
