Helps treat: Signs of ageing and uneven skin texture
Feels like: An oil-like serum
Recommended for: This high strength retinol will help reduce signs of ageing and improve skin’s radiance
Fight visible signs of ageing with The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane, a water- and silicone-free skincare treatment enriched with vitamin A to help revitalise the complexion.
The highly stable retinol present in this formula works to reduce the appearance of fine lines, photo damage and general signs of skin ageing. It also encourages natural cell turnover, helping to promote softer and healthier-looking skin while working to minimise the appearance of blemishes and dark spots.
As retinol can cause irritation to the skin, newer technologies now exist to mimic the visible effects of retinol without causing as much discomfort for the skin. With this in mind, The Ordinary recommends beginning with lower concentrations in order to build up tolerance.

A bit harsh on young sjin
I found this a bit harsh so I had to jump down to a lower percentage. As an oil it lively and absorbs well without being greasy and a little goes a long way so the bottle will last ages but if you have sensitive skin or are new to purer types of retinol I would start lower
Best Use: Firming, Anti-Aging

Retinol
Quite a high strength, it is not overly irritating though. I would obviously suggest building up your retinol using to this so you don’t suffer irritation and peeling but it’s quite a nice formula but it does feel quite oily; I don’t mind this however as this is a product I would only apply in the evenings.

Nice product
I really like products from The Ordinary. good value for money. Retinol is one of my favorites, works really well on problematic skin, if you have oily skin you will love this product too. Reduces acne marks and oily skin with regular use. I recommend to try

Feels oily on
I really enjoy The Ordinary brand and their retinol range, but this one feels very oily on the skin. It does not absorb very well and sort of just sits on top. Try retinoid in emulsion from the brand instead, it is a much better product than this in my opinion
Best Use: Anti-Aging

Alright for neck
I use tretinoin on my face, but wanted the anti ageing effect for my neck and chest area (well hands too!) but tretinoin is too strong. This does not irritate the thinner skin on the areas but I wish it was not in a oily solution. Thats my problem tho as i thought i was purchasing the one in the milky white solution and only saw later.. will still use up the bottle regardless. Wouldnt use it on my face though.
