The vitamins also help to prime and hydrate the skin, working to leave it with a soft and supple feeling. Additionally, the primer serum consists of 10 lipid-rich plant oils that work to hydrate and nourish the underlying layers of the skin to help maintain an invigorated appearance.

Best primer I have used for dry skin
I needed a new primer and love Hourglass so I bought travel sizes of this one, Airbrush and Veil. All were good but the serum really stood out, skin looks fresh and moisturised all day - I take antibiotics for my acne so my skin is a terrible combo of very dry but producing a lot of oil, but this balances me out quite well. It’s expensive but I’ve not found a primer that lasts as well, and I don’t wear make- up everyday so it will last me.

I have been using this primer serum for years now, spreading a small amount over the clean skin of my face in the morning, where it absorbs beautifully and provides the perfect base for Erborian CC cream, which is my second go-to product. The bottles last a very long time, so this is a good value purchase as well as effective on my (older) skin.

Deeply hydrating treatment serum
I have dehydrated dry skin and find in the winter or after a long day, my foundation can be drying and increase the dehydration lines. I purchased this serum to give my skin an extra boost. Its lovely, feels like in really giving my skin a treatment, plus foundation stays all day. I have deducted one star as the pump dispenser worked loose after a short time and half a bottle leaked all over my make up bag. I was gutted. I now check the lid regularly.

A dry skin must have
This is an absolute must for extremely dry skin. I have even used on people with very sensitive eczema prone skin and it has worked wonders. It helps hydrate and soothe to give a smooth canvas for makeup application. It is luxurious to use, and a little goes a long way so it will last for ages too. Well worth a try!

Skin saver
This is by far my favourite and most used primer. It is oil based serum of a very thin consistency. A little goes a long way. It does wonders for my dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin and makes almost any foundation look flawless. I hope Hourglass will never discontinue my skin saver.
