Trick 1: Skincare Prep Is Essential
A solid skincare routine is the first step to a gorgeous, natural glow – it provides a great foundation for the rest of your products to be applied effortlessly. Kate Somerville Liquid ExfoliKate Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment, £58 and Sunday Riley CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum, £70 are two of my go-tos.
Trick 2: Avoid Glitter And Sparkles
Stay away from glitter and opt instead for products that combine skincare and radiance. I love Tan-Luxe Super Gloss SPF 30, £36 as it combines sun protection with hyaluronic acid for a dewy, bronzed glow. Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, £39 is versatile – you can mix it with foundation or wear on its own for a luminous look. Cream formulas, such as Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Bronzer, £12.8, are fantastic for layering on top for a sun kissed finish. For a beautiful rosy glow on your cheeks, try the brand’s Stick Blush.
Trick 3: Powders Can Illuminate Too
Cream formulas are great, but powders have their place. When choosing a powder highlighter, try one that will give a smoother application without highlighting open pores. I love how Laura Mercier Face Illuminator, £18.5 glides across skin like a cream but with the lightness of powder. It’s easy to blend, too.
Trick 4: Fix Your Glow
A setting spray will help keep your makeup in place. I really love Hourglass Veil Soft Focus Setting Spray, £47, as it contains hydrating ingredients to prevent dryness. I also love that it’s water-resistant and leaves my skin luminous.
Trick 5: Control Your Shine
There’s a difference between radiance and shine. If your skin gets shiny or you want to improve the appearance of open pores, apply an oil-free primer. Nars Pore & Shine Control Primer, £21, was formulated to prep skin for makeup and instantly mattifies. To top-up your glow, keep a Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand, £30 in your handbag – it adds light and a soft-focused glow.
