Why I Can't Live Without NARS Laguna Bronzer

Why I Can't Live Without NARS Laguna Bronzer
As I write this it’s 30 degrees outside and I have two fans on the go with various windows open to encourage a cool breeze to blow through my flat. It’s swelteringly hot for the UK. Over the past couple of weeks, I have changed up my skincare for summer (only the lightest of textures will suffice) and have forgone makeup almost entirely. There are a couple of makeup products that not even hottest of days will stop me from using, including waterproof mascara, brow pencil and my beloved NARS Bronzing Powder in Laguna.

Come rain or shine this bronzer is a staple part of my makeup routine. I’m one of those people who bucks the trend for ditching bronzer in the winter months and I use my NARS Laguna Bronzer all year round. As the brand gets set to unveil a cream bronzer, I wanted to raise a glass to the OG and reveal why, for me, it’s the best bronzer for everyone.

Top Line On NARS Bronzer

This iconic bronzing powder is super finely milled, which makes it effortless to blend in seamlessly. There is just the slightest hint of shimmer to impart a healthy glow – it is by no means sparkly though. One sweeping ‘3’ movement from your temples into your cheekbone and down to your chin is enough to give your complexion a wash of colour and definition.

Everything You Need To Know About NARS Bronzing Powder In Laguna

Founded by Francois Nars back in 1994, the brand is renowned for its high-quality formulas that can be used by skilled makeup artists and the rest of us. From the multitasking Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, £ 25,00 to the illuminating Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, £ 35,00, NARS has plenty of globally renowned bestsellers. Unlike most makeup brands, it also has a couple of famous shades. Orgasm is the go-to shade for a lot of people shopping for Nars Blush, £ 16,50, while Laguna is the bronzer equivalent.

What is it about Laguna that makes it so iconic? Well, the shade is a light-to-medium brown with warm undertones. The light texture of powder makes it easy to blend, so you can achieve a very natural-looking healthy glow rather than two brown streaks across your cheeks. I use Space NK Brush 202 - Powder, £ 18,00 to apply and start at my hairline. If my makeup brush has picked up too much product starting at the hairline ensures I don’t dump it in the middle of my cheeks. I draw a figure of ‘3’ from my temples, in and along my cheekbones and then down and round my jawline. I also add a light dusting down my nose and across my eyelids. My biggest tip is to do a couple of sweeps of your neck – it’s too close to your face not to bronzed, trust me!

The Verdict On NARS Laguna Bronzer

This is my absolute go-to for giving my skin a healthy glow. I would go as far as to say NARS Bronzing Powder in Laguna is my makeup ride or die. There’s just enough shimmer to give you a glow without looking sparkly. The shade works well for pale and olive skin tones. If you have darker skin I would recommend exploring, look to Casino and Punta Cana.

More From NARS

As I’ve already mentioned, NARS has several iconic bestsellers. The brand excels at base products. Both the Nars Mini Radiant Creamy Concealer, £ 14,00 and Nars Soft Matte Concealer, £ 24,00 are multitasking and can be used to conceal dark circles, blemishes and redness. If you’re in the market for a lightweight, radiance-boosting foundation, try Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, £ 35,00. For those who want slightly more coverage, look to Nars Light Reflecting Foundation, £ 37,50. And, if you want to try my favourite bronzer and the brand’s famous blusher, I highly recommend you invest in Nars Summer Unrated Blush/Bronzer Duo, £ 37,00.
