Teresa Tarmey’s Three Skincare Rules For Healthy Skin

Teresa Tarmey’s Three Skincare Rules For Healthy Skin
Teresa Tarmey’s clinics are frequented by a whole host of celebrities, press and influencers. Why? Because she’s considered one of London’s top facialists and skincare gurus, known for her glow-giving, no-nonsense treatments. Teresa has now launched a skincare line, and as expected, it’s equal parts chic, equal parts efficacious (the foundation to a great skincare routine, we’d say). In line with her products launching here at Space NK, we’ve asked her to share her insider tricks for achieving healthy, happy skin at home. Here are her three skincare rules...

Rule 1: Take Your Time

Good skin takes time. I recognise that it’s so important to love yourself and give yourself some ‘me’ time. I love a little pampering (even if it’s just 10/15 minutes a day) and your skincare routine is the perfect time to engage in some. To set the scene, I’ll put Bowie on rather loud, and get into a ‘going out’ mood to pamper myself. Personally, I’d choose this as method as opposed to a candle and calming music (although, I am obsessed with candles!).

Rule 2: Be Consistent

My treat once a per week is my Microneedling Kit. It helps to keep my skin rejuvenated, whilst also helping me to wind down. I endeavour to do this every Sunday; it’s my ‘me’ time. I’ve just recently discovered the Nuface Mini Facial Toning Device, N/A, which I’m absolutely loving.

Rule 3: Keep It Simple

Your skincare routine should be simple, with not too many products. It can easily become complicated, time consuming and simply too much. The skin can most definitely be over treated, especially with overzealous use of multiple acids.

Start by double cleansing at night to remove dirt, makeup, and old product. I personally prefer a facial wash; it feels cleaner to me, and more refreshing. My cleanser has been designed to leave the skin feeling comfortable and hydrated; after using, there’s no tightness to the skin. Follow with your treatment (if you use one). I define treatments as actives, such as acids, or retinols. I apply this directly on to clean skin.

I would recommend my Lactic Acid Treatment for someone who wants something gentler or consider my 0.3% Retinol Gel as a step up. The retinol is gentle, yet effective. Choose your serum last. Come morning, I’ll cleanse once, apply my serum, and finish with my SPF.
