Space NK’s Skincare Routines

With a wealth of skincare products at their fingertips, the Space NK team have the opportunity to try the hottest new launches from the most exciting brands around. We chatted to four members of the team, each with a different skin type and concern, to discover which products make the cut and feature in their daily skin routines…

Charlotte Powell, Assistant Buyer

Concern: Hydration/ Hyper-Pigmentation

My skin has a tendency to be on the dry/ dehydrated side, so my morning skincare routine is all about hydration and trying to tackle any hyperpigmentation. I start my morning cleansing with Caudalie’s Vinopure Purifying Gel Cleanser, which contains salicylic acid to gently exfoliate. Then I’ll use a mist to help moisten my skin before applying a serum. May Lindstrom’s Jasmine Garden Botanical Facial Mist is the best mist I’ve ever used and is such a great hydration boost. I always try and use a serum that’s packed full of hyaluronic acid, the Dr Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum is lightweight and absorbs quickly.

I use the Omorovicza Daily Vitamin C about four times a week, it really helps to reduce any pigmentation patches and brighten my skin. Next up, I moisturise with Kate Sommerville’s Goat Milk Moisturiser and finish with a concoction of Kiehl’s Ultra-Light Daily UV Defence Aqua Gel and Drunk Elephant’s D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Drops. I love the gel texture of the Kiehl’s SPF, it leaves no white cast or residue so is great for darker skin tones and it doesn’t clog pores. I mix it with a few D-Bronzi Drops to add a healthy glow and lift up my complexion.

Concern: Nourishing And Soothing

I have dry and sensitive skin so my main aim is hydration and using products with calming ingredients that won’t irritate my skin. To begin my morning routine, I sweep the Aurelia Miracle Cleanser all over my face to cleanse. I was recommended it by a member of the Space NK store team after I was suffering from breakouts from a heavier cleanser. It’s gentle so it doesn’t irritate my eyes and I enjoy taking it off with one of their muslin cloths. Sometimes I leave it on while brushing my teeth to let it work a little harder.

Next, I use Drunk Elephant’s nourishing B-Hydra Serum, which is lightweight and non-sticky and then Aurelia’s Day Moisturiser. I’ve recently started using Ren’s Clean Screen Mineral SPF30, as I wanted to incorporate an SPF into my routine and this one is comfortable to wear.

Concern: Uneven Tone

I would describe my skin as combination with an oily t-zone and I have slight discolouration and areas of uneven tone so those are my goals when treating my skin. With my skincare I always stick to the cleanse, tone, treat, moisturise and seal routine. I start with Kora Organics Gentle Cleanser each morning, it’s non-foaming so doesn’t strip the skin or leave it feeling dry. Next up is Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Brightening Essence. It’s a great way to prep your skin for the next steps, helping to refresh and smooth.

Then I slather on Kora Organics Noni Oil, which softens and plumps my skin but doesn’t leave a greasy residue. To help overcome uneven tone and add radiance, I swear by Omorovicza’s Illuminating Moisturiser. I’ve been using it for about three to four months now and my skin is noticeably brighter. I seal all my products in with a light spritz of Omorovicza’s Queen of Hungary Mist.

Concern: Brightening

My skin used to be sensitive but now it’s more combination and my primary aim with my routine is to brighten and add radiance. I’m always trying to achieve that lit-from-within glow, so start my routine with Rodial’s Vit C Brightening Cleanser. If my skin needs an extra kick I sometimes double cleanse with Tata Harper’s Regenerating Cleanser, which works as a gentle exfoliant.

Then I spritz on my Caudalie Beauty Elixir. It’s super refreshing and the smell transports me back to when I was living in Paris and I discovered it for the first. Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum is my tried and tested favourite brightening serum. I seal all the moisture in with Dr Roebucks No Worries Hydrating Face Moisturizer. It’s packed with hyaluronic acid and antioxidant vitamin E and leaves my skin feeling soft but not shiny.
