One half of the astrology dream team, Astro Twins, Tali Edut is often referred to as the ‘wild twin’ and lives in Seattle with her husband and miniature dachshund Lux. To coincide with the launch of their 2020 Horoscope book, Tali reveals what the year of Capricorn energy means for our beauty routine and how to navigate the moon phases.
On Sunday Masking…
On Sunday evenings, I like to take a dip in the hot tub we have in our garden. The steam helps to open my pores, so I usually apply Omorovicza Ultramoor Mud Mask or if my skin needs nourishing, I’ll slather on Tata Harper’s Hydrating Floral Mask.
On ‘Un-Routined’ Weekends…
Writing daily horoscopes and managing a team means that during the week I have to have a very disciplined scheduled. Therefore, the weekends are totally free from routine. They’re different every week and I love not having to move through any ordered agenda.
On Therapeutic Karaoke…
For me, the ultimate way to kick back and relax after a stressful week is karaoke. My friends and I call it “thereoke” for its therapeutic powers, in fact. Singing is the best form of breathwork out there.
On Winding Down…
Setting the tone with scents is very important for me. I love to burn Diptyque candles, the Figuer Scented Candle in particular, or sprinkling a relaxing essential oil in my aromatherapy diffuser.
On New Moon Pampering…
A few days before a new moon, there is the “balsamic” phase, which is a moody spell. On those days, I try to avoid doing things like getting my hair cut or buying an expensive new scent because I’m not always in the most creative zone. However, it is a great time to go to a spa and I like to spend this time having a massage.
On Full Moon Manicures…
The full moon is always a fun time for playing with new makeup or getting a manicure. I probably make bolder choices then, but that’s my style.
On Capricorn energy…
In astrological terms, this year has strong Capricorn energy. Capricorn is professional, elegant and classic. This might be the year for a sophisticated ‘makeunder’. Think neutral makeup, lip gloss, a sleek bob or ponytail.
On Serums And Eye Cream…
When it comes to beauty, I’m pretty unfussy and I try to take a relaxed approach. Although now I’m in my forties, my serums and eye creams are important. I love May Lindstrom’s The Youth Dew Balancing Serum and regularly use 111Skin’s Celestial Black Diamond Eye Mask.
On Makeup Application…
Even though I like wearing it, I am so impatient with makeup, especially when it comes to applying it. I’ll put it on in five minutes, but then often have to touch up later in the day when I realise that my Suratt Auto Graphique Liner is a little smudged and not exactly touching my lashes. I usually stick to a quick wash off Sisley-Paris Phyto Blush Twist. What can I say? I’m an impatient Sagittarius.
On Haircare Essentials…
On Falling Asleep In Front Of The TV…
When I lived in New York I was a total night owl, but on the West Coast I’m usually in bed by 11pm and I have no issues falling asleep. In fact, my husband likes to wind down watching The Curse of Oak Island and we have a super comfy couch, so I usually fall asleep in front of the TV with our mini dachshund, Lux on my lap. The only problem is that I have to wake up to climb upstairs to our bedroom.
On Morning Routines And Cashew Milk…
I naturally wake up around 6.30am every day. I love the mornings, it’s when I’m filled with creative ideas. I live in Seattle, so it’s all about brewing up a great cup of coffee. I make my own cashew cream to mix in, which sounds fancy but it’s just blended raw cashews and water. While Lux is outside padding around the garden, I do a few stretches while I wait for the coffee to brew.
