Milk Makeup's Zanna Roberts-Rassi On Desk To Disco Hacks

Milk Makeup's Zanna Roberts-Rassi On Desk To Disco Hacks
Back in 2016, Zanna Roberts Rassi co-founded Milk Makeup with three friends who between them had five children. They wanted to create easy to use, multitasking makeup that you could apply anywhere, including the back of a taxi. Most importantly, they wanted each and every Milk Makeup product to work for people of all ages, skin tones and genders in the way they wanted to use it. Anyone who’s used one of the brand’s famous creamy stick formulas will agree that Zanna and the team achieved their goal, and some.

With party season in full swing, heading straight out from the workplace to drinks and dinner with friends has become the new norm, albeit temporarily. There’s no time to completely redo your skincare and makeup routine, but there is that precious five-minute window (we’re being generous here) to refresh your look. Who better to ask for speedy beauty tips than mother of two, TV presenter and brand founder, Zanna? From the party look she applies at her desk in less than two minutes to her tried and tested trick for ensuring her makeup lasts longer, here’s Zanna Roberts Rassi’s desk to disco hacks…

My Speedy Party Makeup Look Is…

…all about defying gravity and waking my face up. First, I’ll refresh my skin with a spritz of Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Makeup Setting Spray, £ 18,00 and wipe away any mascara that’s dropped with a cotton bud. I’ll wake my skin up by pressing, not rubbing or wiping, Milk Makeup Vegan Milk Moisturizer, £ 34,50 onto my face and neck. My trick for lifting and brightening my eyes is to take Milk Makeup Future Fluid All Over Cream Concealer, £ 25,00 under my eyes and up to my hairline following my eye socket and then blend with a damp Beautyblender The Original Beauty Blender, £ 17,00. It gives you an instant eyelift with makeup – it is game-changing. I’ll use the same concealer under my cheekbones to my ears and along my jawline to open and lift my face.

To brighten my eyes further, I’ll use a white eyeliner on my lower waterline and use Milk Makeup Infinity Long Wear Eyeliner, £ 20,00 in black and create a flick, but I’ll only apply the liner on the outer of my lashes. Recently, I’ve realised that if I apply dark eyeliner to the inner corners of my upper lashes it makes me look tired, so I focus on the lash line and the outer edge before I apply lashings of Milk Makeup Kush Mascara, £ 13,00.

I’ll finish the look with Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer- Blaze, £ 19,00 and Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek, £ 19,00 in Rally. I usually opt for Lip + Cheek in Werk, but Sarah Jessica Parker and Hailey Bieber’s love of Rally intrigued me and now I can’t get enough of the punchier shade. I’ll apply the bronzer and blush in either order as the Milk Makeup melt technology gives you that seamless glow – even if you’re putting it on in the back of a cab on route to the restaurant.

Hair wise, I’ll spritz some dry shampoo into the roots and throw it up in top knot, so everything is up, defying gravity. I’m thrilled that scrunchies are back!

I Ensure My Makeup Lasts All Night By…

…Using Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer, £ 11,90. It’s an obvious one for anyone who’s used it, but honestly, I have tested this primer out to the max and it gives you 12 hours of wear. Throughout the pandemic when we were wearing face masks, it kept my makeup in place.

My Trick For Removing Makeup At The End Of The Night Is…

…To use Milk Makeup Hydro Ungrip Cleansing Balm, £ 30,00. It takes off every scrap of makeup effortlessly and if you use a Milk Makeup mascara, you’ll know the tug-proof formulas make life so much easier. If I want more of a skin reset, I’ll use Milk Makeup Vegan Milk Cleanser, £ 27,00, but I’d say the cleansing balm is my go-to if I’ve been out.

The Best Makeup Trick Anyone Has Ever Given Me Is…

…Rest your elbow on a flat surface when you’re applying your eyeliner. It helps keep your hand steady. Also, use eyeliner along your upper waterline and blink a couple of times to open up your eyes and give the illusion of thicker lashes.
