Our Verdict On Charlotte Tilbury's New Collagen Superfusion Face Oil

Our Verdict On Charlotte Tilbury's New Collagen Superfusion Face Oil
Charlotte Tilbury is often considered a makeup brand, but it would be an error to overlook the skincare products as merely a sideline. The founder and makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury was famous for mixing up her signature Magic Cream backstage at the shows long before she launched her Matte Revolution Lipstick. The demand from beauty editors and models for their own Magic Cream ensured that it was and always has been a core product in the range. It also set the bar very high for further Charlotte Tilbury skincare formulas. A couple of years ago, our head of creative and content Liz Hambleton raved about the Magic Serum Crystal Elixir in her Charlotte Tilbury serum review.

The latest offering, Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Superfusion Facial Oil, £60.00 is a break away from the Magic line, but still promises to cater to all skin types and provide game-changing results. As someone with dry to combination skin that often looks dull and tired, I was intrigued by Charlotte Tilbury’s promise of more radiant looking skin within weeks. Usually I reach for hydrating tanning drops or a luminescent highlighter to give my skin some life. Having tried and tested the new face oil, here is my Charlotte Tilbury review.

Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Superfusion Face Oil Summary

If you’re looking for a face oil that offers results on par with a facial, you’ve might have just found your dream product. At the heart of the formula there’s a collagen matrix of Collageneer®, Cocoyl Hydrolysed Collagen, Nanocacao O and MAXnolia O to help plump and smooth skin, while a cocktail of vitamin rich oils, including avocado, olive, raspberry seed and evening primrose help to nourish. The result? An immediate healthy glow and firmer, plumper looking skin over time.

Everything You Need To Know About The Charlotte Tilbury Face Oil

‘Does it feel heavy?’ is the first question anyone asks you when you start talking about a face oil. None of us want a thick, heavy oil that takes what-feels-like hours to sink in and leaves skin with a greasy slip. I’m pleased to confirm that Charlotte Tilbury’s face oil has a rich, almost gel-like texture that absorbs quickly (I’m talking seconds not minutes). Three to four drops are enough cover my face and neck and leave my skin feeling moisturised.

Charlotte Tilbury wanted to create facial-worthy experience not just in terms of results, but with the sensory vibes too. The face oil includes lavender, rose absolute, neroli and eucalyptus essential oils, which are potent. While I enjoyed the relaxing waft of lavender in the evenings and is helped with my evening wind down routine, I wasn’t such a fan at 7am. Although, I would also point out that I rarely use a face oil during the day regardless of the brand as I prefer a vitamin C serum and moisturiser pairing before using makeup.

In terms of where the Charlotte Tilbury face oil would fit into your skincare routine depends on your skin type. For me, it’s nourishing enough to use on its own after I’ve cleansed my skin. If you’ve got dry, thirsty skin, you might want to use it after your usual moisturiser. The brand recommends mixing a couple of drops into Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte's Magic Cream Moisturiser, £ 29,40 or Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Light, £ 20,80 to give skin an extra boost of moisture.

All of the clinicals are based on using the face oil for eight weeks, but I definitely saw results within days. My skin feels softer and more hydrated, and it had a glow to it. The beauty of using face oil is that it requires you to massage it into your skin for at least a minute or so, which helps turbocharge your skin’s natural radiance.

The Verdict On Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Superfusion Facial Oil

This Charlotte Tilbury review, like all the previous skincare and makeup ones is largely positive. The brand knows how to make easy-to-use, versatile products, and the Collagen Superfusion Facial Oil can be moulded to your skin’s needs. In my humble opinion, the texture is what sets it apart from other face oils I’ve tried. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling firmer and suppler.

The only element I’m on the fence about is the inclusion of essential oils. Personally, I love the strong scent of lavender as part of my evening routine, but some people might find it too much and if you have sensitive skin, I would highly recommend doing a patch test.
