Virality is not often linked to luxury, but French fragrance house Parfums de Marly has proved that opulent and niche scents can, in fact, blow up on TikTok. Not that we’re surprised – the brand, founded in 2009, ticks every box when it comes to storytelling, visually appealing aesthetics and alluring fragrances that feel both classic and contemporary.
Parfums de Marly founder and Creative Director Julien Sprecher is passionate about history – specifically 18th century France and the reign of King Louis XV. Parfums de Marly is a love letter to the elegance of this period, which was also the Age of Enlightenment and golden age of perfumery. Parfums de Marly’s name is a reference to the royal residence Château de Marly, and its logo speaks to Louis XV’s love of racehorses (some of the scents are named after racehorses).
