My Initial Thoughts

As the concealer has “brightening” in the name, I expected the concealer to cover up my dark circles and make me look more awake. When I first applied the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer, I thought it had a nice medium-to-full coverage and I definitely looked more lively and awake.

How I apply the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer

I usually use a Beautyblender The Original Beauty Blender, £17.00 if I am doing a full beat, but because I used such a small amount of product, just to subtly cover dark circles, I just tapped in with my finger. I find it easier to melt the texture into the skin and it covers the area more precisely. As for the rest of my face, I don’t usually wear any makeup day-to-day. I occasionally use the Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment, £19.00 whenever I have any redness I need to cover up.

My Verdict on the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer

I wore the concealer all day long and towards the end of the day, I noticed that my undereye looked a bit cakey and I could tell the concealer had dried out. I think this product would be better suited for combination to oily skin, or minorly dry skin – for me, because I’m dry to very dry, I noticed it became a bit flakey after a few hours of wearing it. I did find easy to remove at the end of the day.

My Skin Type: Combination and sensitive

My Skin Tone: Fair

The Product: Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer, £21.00 in 130N

When it comes to my day-to-day makeup, I tend to opt for a no-makeup makeup look, where less is more. I usually wear Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Drops, £34.00 as my base as use my concealer to add a little more natural coverage in the areas I need it.

My Initial Thoughts

Being a Rare Beauty fan already, I had high hopes for this product as I know the brand is great with their formulas. I love their blush and bronzer and now their concealer too. As a first impression, I love the texture of this concealer; it is super creamy and melts into my other products so effortlessly. The shade is a great match for me and helps to brighten my under eyes whilst looking nice and natural.

How I apply the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer

I use the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Concealer Brush, £17.00 to apply my concealer and I usually put it under my eyes, around my nose and a little on my chin to hide any blemishes I have. As for the rest of my makeup, on a typical day in the office I start my makeup routine with the D Bronzi drops before applying the concealer, blush and bronzer and then I finish my complexion off with a little bit of highlight.

My Verdict on the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer

After wearing it for a few hours, the formula is so nice and blends so well into my other makeup, I wore the concealer for a day in the office and bearing in mind I cycle to and from work its staying power was amazing. It didn’t cling to any dry patches or crease throughout the day and I was happily surprised how it lasted. At the end of the day, I used the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, £49.00 to remove my makeup and it came right off, no need to scrub at all which was great as I have sensitive skin this is exactly what I need, as someone who tends to deal with rosacea.

Samira's Rare Beauty Concealer Review

My Skin Type: Dry

My Skin Tone: Medium-Light

The Product: Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer, £21.00 in 360W

On a day-to-day basis, I like to keep my makeup natural, keeping it light with a tinted SPF, with a touch of eyeliner to enhance my eyes, a little bit of liquid blusher and a natural, light lip product.

My Initial Thoughts

I haven’t tried many Rare Beauty products before but having heard high praise for this product, I was expecting it to have good coverage. When I first applied the concealer, the shade was almost an exact match for my skin tone, so did a better job covering than highlighting/ brightening. The product went on well, had a smooth and comfortable texture and was easy to blend in.

How I apply the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer

I only applied the concealer under my eyes to cover up my dark circles. As for the rest of my makeup, the only thing I wear is my Ultra Violette Daydream Screen SPF50 Tinted Veil, £38.00 for the daytime, if I do wear a base. And then I usually switch up to a higher-coverage foundation on nights out.

My Verdict on the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer

The concealer stayed on well throughout the day, it looked similar to when I applied it at the end of the day. I also found it quite easy to removed, using the Tatcha The Camellia Cleansing Oil, £48.00. I will definitely keep using the concealer, for my day-to-day look or when I want to create more of a full-face makeup look. I have a few shades of the Rare Beauty Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, £22.00, and the Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream, £13.30 (which is my favourite).

FAQs on the Rare Beauty Concealer

Is the Rare Beauty concealer coverage high?

The Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer has a buildable texture, with medium to full coverage. You can keep it light with a light layer or build it up with more product for those areas where you need a bit more coverage.

Is the Rare Beauty concealer good for dark circles?

Whether you naturally have dark undereyes or you didn’t get much sleep and have some dark circles, you’re in luck because the Rare Beauty concealer has brightening properties. It not only helps cover them up but it will also brighten up the eye and make you look more awake.

Is the Rare Beauty concealer cakey?

The Rare Beauty concealer is formulated with hydrating ingredients like water lily and glycerin, to help nourish the area where you apply the concealer. However, if your skin is on the dry or dehydrated side, it can look a bit cakey after wearing it for a few hours. We’d recommend priming your under eye with a well-hydrating eye cream or choose a more hydrating/liquidy formula for those skin types.
